Friendly but fervently competitive kneeboarder from Sydney, Australia; nearly unbeatable from the early 1980s to the mid-'90s; kneeboard division winner in 1988 and 1990 World Championships. Farrer was born (1968) in Carlisle, England, grew up in Sydney's northern beaches, and began stand-up surfing in 1978.
