Mellow-voiced hitmaker and surfer from the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Johnson was born (1975) and raised on the North Shore, began surfing at age five, was a finalist in the menehune division of the 1988 U.S. Championships, and as a high school senior made the finals of the 1992 Pipeline Masters Trials.
