Lithesome surfer/model from Haleiwa, Hawaii; girls' division winner in the 1992 United States Surfing Championships; named by People magazine in 1998 as one of the world's "50 Most Beautiful People." 

Jones was born (1977) in Loma Linda, California, moved with her family to Hawaii at age one, and began surfing as a toddler. She competed briefly on the 1993 world pro tour. In 1996 she surfed in a $500 Chanel swimsuit for her first mainstream modeling assignment with Elle magazine, and since then she's appeared in Glamour, Shape, Maxim, Fit, Women's Sports and Fitness, People, and dozens of other magazines. Jones's cover story in the October 2000 issue of Gear magazine was titled "The Perfect Form." In 2001, she was featured surfing in a nationally aired commercial for VO5 shampoo. 

Jones's younger brother Daniel won the boys' division of the 1998 United States Surfing Championships, and in 2001 took the juniors division; older brother Mikala was described by Surfing magazine in 1999 as one of the "young bucks of the next millennium." 

Malia Jones married Big Island pro surfer Conan Hayes on New Year's Eve, 1999.
