Hardworking surfer and board designer from Brevard County, Florida; winner of the 1974 Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) Championships, and an early advocate of epoxy-made surfboards. Loehr was born (1952) in Brooklyn, New York, the son of an oil executive, and began surfing at age 11 after moving with his family to central Florida.
