Surfboard-maker and shop owner from Virginia Beach, Virginia; founder in 1968 of Wave Riding Vehicles, the East Coast's best-selling board company. White was born (1940) in Boston, Massachusetts, began surfing in 1963, founded Bob White Surfboards in Virginia Beach the following year, and changed the name of his company to Wave Riding Vehicles (WRV) in 1968.
