Longboarding hotdog maneuver in which the surfer, without altering the course of his board, quickly pirouettes in a full circle. The spinner is distinct from the 360, in which surfer and board both move in a circle.

The spinner and other examples of "tricks and surfing gymnastics," as Peter Dixon noted in his 1965 book The Complete Guide to Surfing, "are not functional, [but] display the rider's skill and ability to master the wave  for one brief moment."
