Welcome to Encyclopedia of Surfing (EOS), a nonprofit website dedicated to preserving, archiving, and celebrating surfing and surf culture.

We provide this website, as well as a number of related services, including two other websites (History of Surfing, Above the Roar), as well as applications on Facebook and Twitter, to our users, whether they be nonprofit organizations, or other visitors to the site under our Terms and Conditions.Please take a moment to read our Terms and Conditions. By using our site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. “You” means the individual person entering this Agreement on his or her own behalf; or, if this Agreement is being entered on behalf of an organization, such as an employer, “you” means the organization on whose behalf which this Agreement is entered, and in the latter case, the person entering this Agreement represents and warrants that he or she has the authority to do so on your behalf.Please note that the internet is a fast-changing medium, and we reserve the right to modify the terms of this agreement. Encyclopedia of Surfing (EOS) is controlled and operated from its offices within the United States of America. EOS makes no representation that materials in the site are appropriate or available for use in other locations, and access to them from territories where their contents are illegal is prohibited. Those who choose to access this site from other countries do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws. EOS respects every visitor’s right to privacy. Our goal is for you to be totally comfortable while on our site, to earn and keep your trust, and to that end we will never, under any circumstances, sell or disclose any information about you to a third party without your explicit approval. The only communication you will receive related to visitor-provided contact information, will be from EOS. Visitors who choose not to receive messages or notices from EOS may opt out at any time by simply emailing us at matt@eos.surf with “opt out” in the subject line.

EOS contains links to other websites that are not owned or controlled by us, We have not reviewed and are not responsible for the privacy policies of or content displayed on such other websites. It is your responsibility to review the privacy policies and terms of use of any other website you visit. You agree that in no event will we be liable to you in connection with any websites, content, materials, or practices of any third party.While there is no such thing as “perfect security” on the internet, visitor information is stored on secure servers, and protected by anti-hacking software. Washtington-registered non-profit, and we strictly adhere to all related laws, rules and provisions. EOS does not accept advertising. EOS is a subscription-based website supported soley by viewer subscriptions and donations. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the site with or without notice to you. We will not be liable to you or any third party should we exercise our right to modify or discontinue the site.
