Agile surf vixen of the early and mid-1970s, from Honolulu, Hawaii; one of the first women professional surfers, and younger sister of 1972 world champion Jimmy Blears.

Laura Blears was born (1951) in Buffalo, New York, moved with her family to Hawaii as a child, and began surfing at Waikiki at age seven.
