Goof-around hotdog maneuver invented by California surfer Mickey Muñoz in 1959, in which the rider hunkers over while angling across a small wave, head just above the knees, and stretches both arms out horizontally in line with the surfboard. Similar to a head dip, but with added flair. Named after the lead character in Victor Hugo's Hunchback of Notre Dame. Munoz also invented the equally silly "telephono," "mysterioso," and "el spontaneo" moves.
