I believe it is Genesis 4:20 in which the apostle John Severson damns the head dip as a "completely useless" maneuver whose only point is to demonstrate a surfer's "complete domination of the curl."

And yea, John spaketh the truth. The head dip is completely useless.

That "complete domination" bit, though . . . .

Is it just my sinful eyes, or does the head dip seem to be the exact 

 of domination? I mean, look at the two diaper lovers on this page. Head lowered, hands bound and useless, genitals unprotected, back and shoulders ready for the lash. Is this not the very picture of submission? Maybe Phil Edwards is riding out of that position, but the next 99 surfers are gonna eat foam, and is the curl not yanking the choke collar in that scenario?
