coffin
Hotdogging maneuver introduced in the late 1950s, where a longboard-riding surfer drops to his or her back while angling across the wave, and lies feet forward, with hands folded corpselike upon the chest. In a slight variation, hands are templed together in the "pray for surf" position.
While the coffin was always a goof-off maneuver, an online "how-to" surfing site noted, "If you aren't able to get back to your feet successfully, you haven't completed the coffin."
